Home for the Holidays

Hey lovelies! Merry (almost) Christmas! Just like baking cookies or getting a tree, a Christmas blogpost is a holiday tradition that I am determined to keep alive. I like to consider it my gift to you, while also having an excuse to wear my Christmas dress again! It is very obvious when I am back in my hometown because civilians can usually spot me making a scene for the perfect shot. Ironically enough, many people got some festive entertainment as I had a photo shoot session on main street the other night. But free publicity, am I right?! Despite just getting back home and recovering from finals, I had to shoot this sparkly green number with pops of red to post about my favorite holiday. Whether you see me on the streets with my tripod or simply on the blog, know that I am back in the chicest way and made it Home for the Holidays!

I would like to call this dress a Christmas miracle, but it would actually have been considered a miracle if I didn’t buy a new dress (lol)! I truly wasn’t looking for this when I found it online—I was looking for a pair of shoes, though somehow I swear the clothes find me! This is from Cara Santana’s collaboration with Nine West, so it’s no wonder why I am obsessed. We all know very well how much I love Cara’s designs and, add in some sequins and it’s the perfect combo! The mini style shows off all the leg, while the v-neckline creates the perfect showcase for a necklace for more holiday sparkle. Faux wraps are such a stylish silhouette because the belted feature cinches the waist in the right place! My favorite part, aside from all the shine, is the rich emerald green color. Perfect for the holidays, this jewel tone is a more vibrant alternative to black with all the green glitz. This shade of green is complements my blonde hair and green eyes, but looks stunning on any skin tone. Just throw on red lips and heels and you have a festive fit for Christmas, New Year’s, or even date night!

No look is complete without a matching mani! To get into the spirit, I opted for the classic red but mixed it up with some candy stripes and glitter. I couldn’t wear many acrylics last year because my classes required short nails for hand sewing and clay, but ever since I could rock the long nails again, I am constantly craving a bold manicure. There is something so powerful about a fresh set that, just like a killer bag or statement ring, has the power to enhance any look. Now treat yourself this holiday season with a trip to the nail salon (or pop on the press-ons…your secret is safe with me)!

Christmas came a little early with a new blogpost, though I am excited to participate in the rest of the festivities. I have a feeling Santa is bringing me a few pairs of boots and definitely some clothes because I have always been on the nice list…at least I think so! I know we are all super busy during the holidays, so I won’t keep you reading much longer. Plus, I am trying to type this in the midst of cookie-making and all my family—it’s like I never even left! I better get back in the kitchen so Santa has some treats this year. What is one of your favorite Christmas traditions? Let me know in the comments. Grab some mistletoe and comb those closets for glittery green and don’t forget to pucker up with a red pout and matching heels! I hope you have a very Comber Christmas, and a healthy and safe New Year! Happy Closet Combing!
