European Summer

Hi babes! Happy summer! So, is it just me or did anyone else catch the travel bug? As much as I love Pittsburgh, I must admit that I am itching to go somewhere ASAP. I did end up in NYC a few weeks ago (pics to come!), but I am craving something a little more serene. All I’ve been seeing on my social feeds are these “European Summer” looks that feature dreamy feminine details, paired with flowery, quaint backgrounds—let’s just say, all I want to do is buy a frilly dress and book a flight. I might save up some more money before I jet to Europe, but I do have plenty of girly things to help me make it through until then. Which brings me to this pretty outfit featuring my lacy corset top, feather cuff blazer, jeans, and the perfect pink heel. Whether you’re going to Belgium or the Barbie movie, it’s a great summer ensemble.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to wear lingerie as clothing, I’d like to thank you. Lingerie is too expensive to save for “special occasions.” Not to reference social media again, but I was watching advice from older generations who drove home the point of “just doing it”. They probably didn’t mean wearing a spicy top, but I love the spirit of going for it! This lace corset of mine has the coverage where it is ~needed~ with the right amount of skin showing. I recommend combing those closets for lacy numbers that have enough fabric to conceal and reveal. If you’re not into bearing it all, then throw on a fun blazer like myself. I chose this pink one I DIYed with feathers for an extra, extra touch.

Despite all the pink and sparkly heels, I thought I’d throw in a little edge with a distressed denim. I love how it makes the look feel more grounded, cool, and certainly chic. One thing I’ve been really into lately is mixing different aesthetics (i.e. girly and edgy, street and athletic, etc.), so it just made sense to pair this with the classic jean. Plus, it balances the proportions—since the top is rather sexy, I wanted to be more covered on the bottom, so the look stills feels appropriate for day!

Well, loves, I must be signing off because it’s already past my bedtime (wow, who would’ve thought I’d go from staying up til 4am to having a bedtime?!). I guess that’s why I have to start incorporating evening wear in my daytime looks! All jokes aside, I love the ultra-feminine feel of this look, combined with the white fence and flowers. I didn’t have a one-way ticket to Copenhagen, but I did find beauty in my hometown. When you actually stop and literally smell the (insert flower here), it really puts a whole new perspective on life. So, comb those closets for flirty pinks and alluring lace, and keep on daydreaming—I can’t wait to be literally dreaming! Goodnight and Happy Closet Combing!
